How it works

One sheet per job. Enter the agreed price, then log every cost and every payment as it happens — date, vendor or client, category, description, type, amount, and whether you have the receipt. The summary block keeps the agreed price (contract plus change orders), cash collected, recorded costs, what's left to collect, and agreed price minus costs current as you type.

It opens on a worked example so you can see how the rows feed the summary, and the category column is ready for the twelve starter cost codes — build your own list with the cost code builder and paste the names in.

The spreadsheet does the arithmetic; the discipline is yours: every receipt logged the week it's paid, coded consistently, priced against what was really agreed. When that starts slipping across three jobs and four phones, that's the moment an app earns its keep.

Questions

01 Does the template work in Google Sheets? +
Yes. Upload the .xlsx to Google Drive and open it with Sheets; the formulas and dropdowns carry over. It also opens in Excel, Numbers, and LibreOffice.
02 Is it really free? +
Yes. Enter your email and the download starts immediately. We'll send a couple of follow-up emails with job-costing help, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
03 Can I track more than one job? +
Duplicate the sheet once per job. Keeping jobs on separate sheets is what makes each job's numbers honest — one mixed list is how costs go missing.
